3 flights up and this place is about to rot out from beneath my feet.
Snuck into an old store.
A store which had already collapsed in several places from the wood rotting or from the mortar turning in on itself.
A very dark interesting place. Graffiti, an old safe, computers, shelves, refigiration displays.
Very odd. Very surreal and scary at the same time.
The paint is peeling from off the walls and celling. The wood on the floor is rotting away and in the center it was all caved in.
I'm going back again.

Taken with:
Mamiya AFDII, 80mm manual focus, using Sekonic light meter to expose for far window highlight at f/16 at 23 seconds.
Heres the killer part: Leaf Aptus 22 digital back. 3 inch LCD touchscreen. The thing has a FAN...it's crazy. The sensor on it is huge.
A $18,000 piece of equipment. This file was huge. 40+mb in size.
You won't see a clearer finer picture on DA without looking really hard.
Post Process:
Single RAW edit in PS. Literally, no adjustments even needed. I love this camera and back. (But it weighs a ton and is very expensive)

Amazing place. It is very odd going into a building knowing that it has already fallen down in places. Through 4 floors it has crashed in down to the bottom. The stairs are still there and people still go in. My friends and I will go back...and we are going with our cameras and our minds wide open. I took a few 120 shots as well with the Mamiya....wait for those later. Those are 30 second exposures.
quality and light are everything...
but the inspirations are the reasons why all else succeeds.
oh, it's amazing. But it's not mine...only mine for the year...the camera itself with the lenses and all is about 4,000 but the real money is in the digital back....

Just kidding
Like you said, you captured an amazing amount of detail and subtle color nuances.
You weren't afraid you were going to crash that $18,000+ piece of equipment by falling through the floor(s)?
i <3 abondoned buildings. for really. i have this weird obsession with urban decay. thanks for feeding that. can you take a bad picture with this camera? you should try, the reuslts would be hilarious.
lol, they take bad ones too...just like any other camera.
The buildings here are totally interesting. Very unique...I'm going back...but I just read that if you go into any abandoned building...wood ones are the least safe, they rot (like this one is) and even if they are dry, they have dry rot. This one is seriously creepy...and dangerous.

Thank you. I'm getting better. The more and more I get better equipment and touch other cameras I realize it's less the camera and more and more the person 6 inches behind it.

:-P lol the color really is amazing. At 100% I have to look for grain, it's hard to see any. Kinda crazy.
I am always aware of the equipment. Something that costs that much...you have to be. Its insured...but I don't want to find out the ordeal of that. If I fell through the floor...I wouldn't say I had my camera because I can just imagine how that would make the insurance company say that I was tresspassing and that they wouldn't insure it for some reason. lol
It's not that AMAZING of a shot...but the detail sure is.

Ugh, yes, you would have been arrested for trespassing, in the process probably voiding the insurance ... maybe it's best not to think about those things.
